What is Neurocreative?

Neurocreative is a big idea to reframe neurodiversity as a source of strength—not a deficit. Traditional systems often see ADHD and other neurotypes as challenges to be managed. We see them as unique strengths and creative potential—traits that spark innovation, resilience, and bold thinking.

At Neurocreative, we are developing tools, research, and resources for students, educators, and creative teams who want to unlock this potential. From classroom strategies and toolkits to creative industry workshops and thought leadership, we are helping shift the conversation from 'accommodation' to empowerment. It's early days, so we are just getting going. Visit us again as we ramp up our resources and research study.

Founder, Scott Cressman

Scott Cressman is a designer, educator, and researcher dedicated to reshaping how we understand neurodiversity in creative education and professional practice.

As a communication design professor at Alberta University of the Arts, Scott works closely with students in art and design programs—many of whom are neurodivergent. His research and teaching focus on reframing ADHD and other neurotypes as creative assets that can transform classrooms, agencies, and industries.

As a creative industry leader, Scott has worked with teams in marketing and communications across a spectrum of opportunities over 30 years. He has experienced and seen both what neurodiversity enables but also what it limits if not understood.

Scott is the author of an upcoming book, Designed to Diverge, that explores how neurodiverse creativity fuels innovation and how educators and leaders can better support it. Through workshops, consulting, and writing, he helps bridge academic research with real-world practice—bringing together students, parents, educators, and creative professionals to build inclusive ecosystems for talent to thrive.
